These four awards are based on the number of nominations received
PAINTED CAKE, Sculpted CAKE, modelling excellence, Sugar Flowers, Royal Icing, Cookie, Wedding Cake, Best Show Piece & collaboration awardS
Nominations are made by filling in the public nominations form
All nominations are considered in the lengthy shortlisting process undertaken by Cake Masters Magazine - shortlisting for skills based categories is NOT based on the number of nominations received
The shortlisting process involves going through each and every nomination and carefully considering the work of nominated cake artists.
Shortlisted finalists are then contacted and will need to provide a portfolio of work which will be judged by our panel of esteemed judges
BEST Learning Experience AWARD
After the shortlisting process, finalists will be required to provide more information about the services provided e.g. online platforms will need to provide logins so that learning can be assessed. For teaching facilities and specific classes by teachers, attendance to a class will be booked and assessed. For all other learning experiences, similar assessments will take place and the winner will be based on the best overall learning experience.
BEST Product Award
All nominations for the best product will need to be done via the online form
This year there will be a split between Edible Products and Non-Edible Products
After the shortlisting process, product finalists will be contacted to send in samples of products to be assessed
Assessment of products is undertaken by a panel of 10 UK based cake artists of professional skill and each product will be tested against various criteria - a few examples of this are: quality of product, ease of use, advantages and disadvantages of the product, etc. This year, where possible, products will be sent to testers without packaging.
A report will be submitted by each tester and the products with the best overall feedback scores will win.
RISING STAR AWARD
This award is given to a cake artist who is up and coming and a future star! All finalists will be required to send in a personal statement, a portfolio of work and maybe required to participate in an interview with Editor of Cake Masters Magazine, Rosie Mazumder.
